anyone use a 1911 for hunting? i will have mine on my this weekend mainly for protection from hogs and panthers and such. however if i get a damn good shot at a whitetail with my handgun i will take it.

what are your thoughts on using a .45acp for whitetail?

Well,,,i do have to give an advisement that hunting with standard .45 ball ammo is illegal in Mo. That being said i have done taken deer with .45 auto,,very effectively with a neck shot at about 25 yards.

First thing I would do is check local laws concerning handgun use for hunting.
Want my ammo?Ok,stand downrange.
