Need any advice anyone has. My friends and I just drawed for Nov 5-13 mule deer hunt in District 3 and 301. I've never hunted Colorado or mule deer. My questions are :
1) Should I plan on spot and stalk or sit and wait?
2) If I sit and wait what signs should I be hunting over?
3) What climate should I expect?
4) What is a decent size deer for that area?
I've hunted West Tennessee all of my life for white tails and I've killed some 100 inch deer but this is a totally new and I'll accept any and all advice.

I hunt primarily mule deer. Just remember, its nothing like whitetail hunting. My most successful technique is patiently glassing from a good vantage point. If you find country that has the sign, find a good vantage point and make yourself stay behind your binos. You can glass half a day then suddenly the big guy pops out of nowhere.

After you find him, it just depends on the situation on how you get in on him.

Good luck, post us some pics.

hey i live and hunt in colorado, unit 3 / 301 is an easy kill for mule deer. You can expect it to be cold as heck but there are alot of deer there. I have hunted that unit myself and have killed 180 inch deer. My biggest advice is that you stay at the hotels there in craig or down the road in steamboat. If you have any other questions about hunting out here or your gear or anything shoot me a personal message
