So many people try debating on weather to buy the 30-06 or the 7mm Rem Mag. No Matter what kind of hunting you will be doing, they both will do it right. IF you will be hunting grizzleys then the 30-06 would be favoured. If you will be just strickely hunting something like whitetail, elk, Black bear, caribou or moose then the two calibers are just the same. The 7mm has a slightly smaller bullet but has higher velocities, better trejectory, and more knock down power down range. The 30-06 has a bigger bullet and more buellet selection. I have both. I was looking into buying a 7mm when my uncle retired from hunting and gave me both his REmington model 700 BDL 7mm Rem Mag and his Remington model 742 Woodsmaster 30-06. Now if i had to pick one, i would take the 7mm any day. I normally hunt, Moose, Caribou, and black bear. I hunt whitetail with a muzzle loader. But i would still prefer my 7mm

I have a .30-06 and my buddy has a 7mm. They both shoot great. It's all about personal preference, comfort, cost of cartridge, and what load of cartridge you shoot. Both are reliable, and both can be used for nearly any big game.

30/06 if you don,t reload. cheaper to buy in stores.because you need to be out practicing all you can to be agood shoot. shooting well will pay off in many good years of memories.

Well. I am biased simply because I just purchased a 30-06 so I am leaning towards that one. :D

I own both,
I strongly prefer my 7mm rem mag over my 30-06.
