Postby DeEr SlAyeR » Wed Nov 09, 2005 7:19 pm

Hi im kinda new here but i got a question. I own a 30-30 winchester model 94 ranger and its kinda old but works good and i want to put a scope on it. Its not drilled or tapped so is it possible to get scope mounts or even put a scope on it? Any help would be great. Thanks

Here you go chief. Go with the BSS-14710. It is what I have and you shouldnt have to drill any holes. Good luck.

Ok that looks pretty darn cool but i do have a few Questions. Mines top ejection so will this mount screw with the way it ejects shells? About how high off the gun will the scope be, and is this a side mount or top mount?

I am left handed also and have yet to have a problem. The onjly thing I had to do was rotate the scope. The left and right knob is on top and the up and down knob is on the right. I took and put the left and right knob on the left side and the up and down knob on top. I dont know if you understand that or not, but my shells would catch on the cap and fall back in and then I would have to dig them out. Putting the knob on top solved that. It takes a min. to get used to sighting it in but it works out in the long run. I have had it set up like that for 20 years. Good Luck.

Doc, I heard that you put your scope on backwards so the "up/down" would still be just that! So, how did you like it on -9 power? Pretty cool, huh!?!

You have to try to remember from year to year what does what. We arent smart enough yet to mark it on the scope or write it down and put it up where we can find it. One day we will be though, and when that day come we will do just that. :D

awesome scope... I have a question for ya though, Doc. Does that scope get in the way with ejection at all? Us Winchester owners are always told by everyone that we can't use scopes on our 30-30's because of top ejection... I was just wondering how effective the scope was for you.

I have to rotate it. Read my post form above. It ejects them like it doesnt have a scope on it. I leave it in the mount and take it off and use open sights sometimes. Pretty easy.

It is a side mount(should be). All you have to do is remove 2 factory screws and replace them with the ones provided with the mount. Easy as 1,2,3.
