Just wondering if we have any 3D shooters here. Me and son shoot a couple times a month.
What do you guys shoot for your 3D set up-hunting bow or target bow.
I use my hunting bow Switchback LD my boy uses a target bow, Mathews Apex.

I haven't shot a 3D popup range if thats what you mean.

I did shoot a computerized range setup in a league here, I really liked the program they had on it that not only scored based on if you hit the animal but also scored on the quality of hit and if it was ethical kill based on shooting through obstructions like tree limbs, etc.

It made you work on picking the ethical shot which is good for any type of hunting.

Yeah Bowhunters I've shoot the techno hunt video before its a good time.
I was mainly talking about outdoor 3D shoots usually 30 tagets set up threw the woods at various distances 15-50 yards you have to guess yardage. Targets range from Whitetail, bear, wolves, turkeys, even an occasional skunk. If you have'nt tried you should its a great time, improves you ranging skills and you get to meet some great people.

I'm with you Backstrap! IMO, Shooting regular targets at a archery shop or in your backyard doesn't come close to the level of confidence you gain from 3-D before "hunting season" begins. Your learning proper shot placement, ranging distances(shooting uphill/downhill, treestand, ect.) It's no accident most outdoor 3-D tourneys(in my area)start a couple of months before hunting season starts. Plus what better place to meet fellow sportsman like ourselves, and get valuable info about a paticular game you hunt. As for type of bow, my sons,In-laws and I use the bow we hunt with and try to dress as we would when we hunt, to make it as close as possible to the hunting conditions we will face. As for Techno hunting its great. But I spend more time retrieving arrows in the semi-darkness, then shooting and have drive 25+ Miles each way to shoot one. I'll get of the soapbox now, and let someone else get on....
