I picked up a hodgdon basic reloaders manual 2008 and found tripple seven powder recipes for 45-70 govt. Man-o-man what a riot it is to shoot these loads. Great lever action smoke show.More fun than my traditions smokepole. Make sure if you try these loads to clean your bore shortly after shooting. I use 405 gr. lead from the bullet barn in B.C. Canada. Loading recipes also available for 25-35, 30-30, 38-55, 40-65, 45-70, 45-120, 50-140, and most of the traditional pistol calibers. I shoot with a marlin 1895 pistol grip. P.S. also recipes for pyrodex. Remember to not measure these powders by weight but to measure with black powder measuring tools. Try these loads and enjoy.
