I believe this cartridge would wreak havoc on a deer. :D If it didn't drop like lightning had struck it...wouldn't be much trouble finding a blood trail.

good golly miss molly what a bullet. based on a necked down 12 ga. definately need a BIG recoil pad. i saw ol' jim scoutten shoot a 4 bore on the outdoor channel last night. the inside diameter of the barrel was 1". the bullet looked like something that a small tank would shoot. he took 3 steps back when he shot it from the recoil. bet his shoulder had one hell of a bruise after that.

Been giving this one some thought Doc. Why neck it down? Buy the brass 12ga. cartridges from Cabela's, have a gunsmith fix you up with a custom rifle, dies and bullet mold. Would certainly make a conversation piece even if you never had the nads to fire it. May have to look into it. :D

hope you have a good doctor that can pop your shoulder back into place. i think i would have to shoot it once. i paid for it gotta shoot it!. it would be nice to hunt an elephant, not that i could afford it but, just a thought.
I think if you can handle a 12ga. slug (or an Enfield .303) you can handle anything.
