A few trail cam pics

For those of us who like to shoot with a camera.

A few trail cam pics

Postby Bushie Jackman » Tue Aug 12, 2008 11:49 am

Here's a few pictures taken from one of the farms I hunt in Maryland, never mind the date and time on the last 2 pictures, I forgot to set that prior to putting the camera's in. The close up's are where I put C'mere deer directly under the camera. I had a ton more, but didn't want to post too many.

nice pictures, Using my game cam is so addicting. I never know what im going to find. I mentioned in some of my posts I put it in the community i work in. $1,000,000 homes and heavily populated. I was amazed to get pictures of coyotes and even a bobcat on a small stream. these homes backyards back up to the stream. If they only knew what was lurking.

Cam's

Postby Bushie Jackman » Wed Aug 13, 2008 8:41 am

WOW! Nice pictures. I love my trail camera's and can't wait to see what kind of pictures are on them this week.
No coyotes or bobcats here in Maryland yet. Although we have been hearing that a few farmers have spotted coyotes while harvesting corn, but that right now is just hear-say.

Yeah we have a few tell tale stories of the yotes here in Delaware as well.I have never seen ay proof though.Im not complaining though.I like to shoot them but i would rather travel and help someone else out with that problem than have to deal with it in my own back yard.

I wish I could take care of the problem here, Everyone wonders where their pet kity cats go. The problem is that it is a high end community and they are very nature oriented. The thought of trapping or shooting any of these animals is thought of as murder around here. Unless the problem gets too out of control I dont see any coyote hunting for me around here. Just have to drive 2hrs north and try some calling at the farm.

you cant be more right haha, I actually work for the Fire Dept here and we just had a deer run out in front of a porsche the other day. Not a whole lot of damage to the car but sadly the only evidence of the deer was the leg hanging from the door seam. He ran into the woods and no one could find him :(. The driver was not so happy about the incident to say the least.

I have met more people who were not necessarily anti's but just felt bad for the animals and didnt agree with hunting. Then they have an accident caused by a deer or the deer eat thier $10,000.00 flower bed and they want call every hunter they know of to come exterminate.

Now theres an idea, start a pest control company that specializes in deer eradication! Get paid to hunt!

Heres a tip for you on the camera... Lower it down. You are getting some good pics and they are triggering the camera, but you can get the whole deer(feet included) if you drop it down to belt buckle high. It may be already and is on a hill, lower it a little and maybe get better pics than you are getting now.

Camera Height

Postby Bushie Jackman » Wed Aug 20, 2008 6:24 am

DOC,
I'm having a bit of a problem here...I placed my C'mere deer product directly under the camera in an attempt to show that the product is working. I am getting a ton of pictures where i'm just getting pictures of the rumps and partial head shots, so I lowered the camera even more.(about three feet off the ground) I'm still having the same problem, but i'm afraid to move it any closer to the ground as that will put me at around 2 feet off the ground and I don't know how the pictures will be at this height. I'd love to move the camera to another tree but there aren't any more around with a a direct view of the mineral site. I don't want to re-establish a C'mere deer site since this one is already established and I know the deer are using it and My stand is 30 yards off of the site itself and within bow range. Do you think I should try lowering the cam even more?

3ft is alright. Since it is there, leave it. If you want you can move it out away fron the camera some. You are still in the same spot, just away from the camera. Dont feel bad, it is a lesson learned. I learned it several years ago and you learned it this round.

Nice pictures! Just an FYI, if your in photobucket and you copy and paste the IMG code it will show up directly on your post, so as members don't have to click on each individual photobucket link to view your pictures. :D
