Advice needed

Postby jwalden4 » Sat Nov 19, 2011 8:10 pm

I have been hunting aroung 10 or 12 times this season and haven't seen nothing but does. Ive been putting out tinks wicks and ive been using the "can" estrus call. I grunted this mornng close to the end of my hunt and had one grunt back, but never would come in. im completely camo from head to toe, and i use everything scent away. Am i doing something wrong? Any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Are you in the woods or sitting on a field edge?

If you are on a field edge, move into the woods 20yds or so. That should put you in where the deer are. Most of the bucks will move just off the edge of fields looking and smelling for doe. Look for trails that are being used and set up on them. It isnt always the trail that is most used that the bucks travel. They tend to use "their" trail that parallels the doe trail and is slightly used. Try either using some buck urine along with your doe urine or lose the scents all together.

Thanks...Ive been hunting a lane about 20ft wide and 200yds. and a food plot a couple of times. Maybe i need to try moving in the woods a little. But its gone be tough to set up a stand, its mostly thick brush and small oaks.

Build a blind out of brush or take a blind in.
