Hey guys,

I'll be 15 next month and love hunting. PSE, what part of north KY do you live in? Lexington? I will be down soon to Coyote and Deer hunt. Don't worry, I'm not a serial killer or anything. Just curious.

Well Hunter777 you shouldn't have shot at the deer, that's what gives us kids a bad name. Heck that's what gives us hunters a bad name. I'm 15 from Michigan and I just got my first buck this year. It was an 8pt with my 30-30. He was about 155 yards out.

well hunter777, i dont blame you for shooting at this deer because when i was 11 years old i took a shot at a nice doe running at full speed and it was about a 50 yard shot and i dropped that deer within the next 40 yards. so good try and better luck on bagging ure first deer next time.

Good Luck!! :D

Also im not sure how shooting at a deer can give hunters a bad name. Things like poaching and hunting out of season and bad attitudes from hunters are what give us a bad name. In my eyes there is nothing wrong with giving it a good legal try.

I personally dont like shooting at running deer, but will do it if the conditions are right(running directly away/towards me). It is more ethical to pass up that shot and take one where the deer is standing still. If you were to shoot at a running deer and wound it you might never find it. It would put the deer through a lot of agony and pain and a long drawn out death. In my opinion it is better to wait on a standing still shot than take a chance on wounding a deer. If the shot doesnt present itself, there is always another deer or another day. Good luck all.

also about the running deer shot u could just stop the deer and then shoot u can stop him by grunting or just making a grunting noise with your voice if he dosent stop after that then i would just scream like hay or something.

15, p.a.

id never take shot at a runnning deer, thats how you injure them :x
never take a shot unless you know its gonna be a clean kill. also got 2 deer
7pt. and a little doe that got shot by someone else and i shot it to put it out of its pain.
i only saw 23 deer through out all the seasons!

I'm 15.. from Wisconsin. Been hunting for about 9 years (3 years with a gun) and have got 7 deer. Two 8pnts, 5pnt, two doe, and a nubbin buck. Nice to see some kids around my age on this forum. Bow hunting is less than a month, and I've got buck fever!

Good luck to all hunters.

i am 17 from wisconsin yet to shoot a buck but have gotten a couple does and about the running deer shot the is only one excuse i would accept when shooting a runnin deer and that is if u practice i myself have a runnin deer target on my land so i am completely comfortable with a runnin shot but if you have no experience shootin runnin deer dont do it
