I have two whitetail deer missing from my cabin in Peoria county Illinois,
I killed both these bucks during the 2007 season and they have been on the wall in my hunting cabin all of the 2008 season so sometime from January to now they was both stolen along with 3 frames of Indian artifacts. If you think you have seen these deer please let me know I put alot of time in for these 2 bucks and let them grow to mature deer. Thanks Rob

Those are two nice deer. Sorry to hear that they were stolen. Even if they take the trophy from the wall, they cannot take away the memories of the hunt when you got them. I would say if your cabin is pretty secluded, 9 times out of 10 it will be someone close by who stole them - they are the only ones who would know where your cabin is and if you are there or not.

I agree with Doug, sorry to hear they where stolen.

I would most certainly give copies of your photos to the local Sheriffs office and to the Fish and Game/DNR, if they bust someone for robbing houses or for poaching and those mounts are there at least they will know who they belong to and will contact you.

Once a week scan Craigslist and Ebay for your items and see if they show up for sale on one of those two, lots of theives have been caught selling stuff they steal on those two sites.

Also would suggest the obvious for the future to remove mounts, colectables, electronics, etc. when you close down the camp for the end of the hunting season.

I appreciate you alls help and putting this on top,I put alot of work in to bagging these 2 bucks,I may have a place to start as a local famer has been seeing a truck go in out of my road unfortuanatly I wont be able to watch the property for 2 more weeks I did get 4 trail cams set up today and hope I can catch someone coming in the drive.I have never gave anyone any trouble for using my property but there isnt much else I can do I have my doubts I will ever see the deer again another thing when I was at the cabin and got to looking around there was a dirty pan on the stove sounds crazy I know but I know I didnt leave the pan on the stove so evidently they know I am only there around planting season and hunting season, felt safe enough to cook a meal.I have checked craigslist and ebay havent seen much,I talked to the game warden and he took a couple of photos he said that someone this past hunting season was killing bucks and cutting the head off at the shoulder leaving the meat and all to rot the person responsible killed over 16 deer wasting everyone they plan to bring in federal wardens next season and getting this guy or guys to justice Im not saying it will recover my bucks but it will save alot of deer from going to waste. Thanks again guys.

Yeah, good idea on putting up a game camera or two on trees going down the road near the cabin, if there is a tree within about 50ft of the cabin door maybe you will get a liscense plate number or a pic of them the next time they go inside.

You don't want to use older flash game cameras because if they go in at night and see the flash they will probably steal the game cameras as well but its doubtfull they will notice the IR ones if you put them on trees that have a few limbs that help give them cover but don't block the pictures.
