Anyone ever tried this?

Postby jaclinto » Mon May 09, 2005 7:37 am

I joined this group in hopes of getting some advice on products that I am looking at purchasing. They are:

Camoclad Accent Stripes ( www.camo4u.com )

and

Truck Bed Tent ( www.napierenterprises.com )

Has anyone heard of these, and even better, has anyone tried them. Any feedback would be very helpful before I dip into my wallet.

Thanks
Jim

My son in law did his little 4x4 golf cart truck in the fall camo and it looked awesome and is a real decent thick mil. spec. should wear like armour. I think the price he paid was around $50 for a 4'x4' square seems a little pricey to me but it looks very nice, I need to do something like that to my 2000 dodge pickup because the factory color is electric blue and it scares the He** out of game when i drive down the road to my hunting camp. Not that I hunt from the truck window, but it is nice to watch animals as i travel, kinda gives me an idea of whats moving through the woods at any particular time.

As far as the Accent Stripes, I guess they would be a personal choice. I think they look better on some vehicles than others!

Truck Bed Tent: I'm sure it has some good benifits!?! Staying off the ground could be cleaner?!? I have looked at them before but, decided to go with a regular tent. The one bad thing that I can see with the truck bed tent is, you would have to UNLOAD everything out of the truck just to set it up!!!

I think you should figure out what types of situations you will be camping in, number of people, etc. and let that be a deciding factor in the tent you buy.

I used to have a truck tent, I'm not sure it was the same type as the one you're looking at. I got rid of it because it took the whole truck bed to put it up. Then you were left with all the stuff you packed laying on the ground. Also, it wasn't very much fun hauling dead deer around in the bed I planned on sleeping in that night.

I've never had one of the bed tents but there is simular product I always thought would be more usefull. I can't remember what they were called tho. They are more like the military transport tarped covers. Four metal pipes assemble and raise up to cab hieght from the bed of your truck and a fitted canvas cover stetches over the top. The front and sides snap down and the rear flap zips close. You can leave them on when you drive and take them off in a few minutes. Maybe someone else on here knows a link right off hand they could post.

Why post on a thread that's three years old, especially when it doesn't really add anything to the topic? Makes no sense.
