This is the any antlered deer right (meaning mule deer or coues deer)?

Find the sign, then find a good spot to glass from. Make yourself stay put behind your binos for a day or 2. The big one can pop up at any time.

Look in the pinyon juniper zone. It is the transition area between the ponderosa pines and the desert grasslands. Find an area away from the roads, there will be a ton of road hunters in that unit. Get up high and glass. There are hundreds of tanks in 6A, check them for sign. I wouldn't hunt one specific tank, mulies can go three days without water and everybody with an atv will be driving up to the tanks. Find a highpoint where you can see multiple tanks and the travel corridors that funnel the deer to them. The area around Apache Maid mountain would be a good place to start, but there will probably be more than a few other hunters around there. Look for food species; oak, mountain mahogany, and cliffrose. Most important, get out there and scout, I would try to find two or three areas you want to hunt, there will be a lot of pressure up there that week.
