Backyard Buck

Postby -zink- » Sat Jun 26, 2010 5:27 pm

Last year I put a trail cam in a small patch of woods behind my house that borders a farm after I found some scrapes back there. I got pictures of a doe and 3 bucks one of which is big 8 point.
I am planning to go after him this year and was wondering how I should go after him (with a bow)

have you checked up on whether or not its permitted? what im asking is do you live in a city or county? and do they provide a urban archery permit (city) to hunt. i live in a city and am in the process of applying for an urban archery permit, of course there are stipulations, but none the less, its plausable

also i meant to add, a well placed groundblind will do the trick, but make sure your path of entry from your back deck to your blind is well off to the side of your property line, and id say place it at the closest point to your house that gives you a good shot, and lastly blend it to appear as a new type of shrub in the yard, and let the deer get used to it for a week or 2. and then theres the trusty treestand, and im sure youre well aware of how to use that lol. im no expert, just giving you ideas iv had in my head since iv noticed the deer population growing in my backyard. ill try and get pics of em soon for ya
