I am lucky enough to have a close friend who owns a bear camp so I bear hunt alot.
What time are you re baiting your pile? If you change the time you bait you can possibly change his habits unless he is an old wise boar then it may be near impossible, depending on the hunting pressure the area gets.
Bears that are baited usually have a route they follow on a daily basis (bait to bait) and if you are putting out something they really like such as donuts, candy, bacon fat etc. when you change your bait time after a few days they will sometimes modify their route.
Also if you make the bait difficult for them to get at (again if it is something this particular bear really likes) they will spend more time there in the area of the bait. When we have this type of problem (nocturnal bears) 2 of us go in to bait 1 guy gets on stand and the other baits making as much noise as possible coming and going, on more than one occasion we have shot bears within 15 minutes of the baiter leaving. Let the pile go empty fo ra day then start baiting it early am and sit we have shot bears 10 in the morning. The whole don't bear hunt mornings is is BS.
Dude Just Drill em!!!!!!!
