Good luck to you. Think I'll take the .54 out in the morning.

The .54 is the new Hawken that Pedersoli came out with. Old standby is a .50 Lyman Great Plains rifle. Recently had a little flintlock .40 caliber southern long rifle built by a gentleman in Georgia...it's begging to shoot a deer. Most likely will shoot a doe out back of the house with her.
What kind of load you shooting out of that Encore?

3 Pyrodex 50gr, T/C .45 250 gr PTX (If I'm remembering correctly) until my supply runs out, then I will switch to Triple 7 pellets and Hornady SST.
You must be a round ball guy, right?
With a handle like Quigley.............
Hey, that Tom Selleck movie in Australia when he used that Quigley!!!

That load oughta wallop one.
Yep...mainly roundballs. Do like the REAL bullet in the .50 though. Leaves a bloodtrail Ray Charles could see with his cane.
That movie is an all-time great.

Like my sons '51 Navy .44, nice balance, but I'll still take my Ruger.

The REAL bullet is from a Lee mould. Stands for Rifling Engraved At Loading.
Only blackpowder revolver I have anymore is the 1860 Army. It's had many, many rounds fired thru her. Am partial to them 51's too...real nice feel to them. Haven't ever played with the Ruger.
