I've used Hoppe's all my life.

Hoppe's is how it is spelled. I just never knew how to pronounce it. Hops, hopies, hoppies? That's what I have always used though.

Hoppes is agood powder cleaner but you really should use a copper solvent too! Try some and will see alot of green patches come out of yore bore.Copper will slowly eat the metal in your bore and ruin a fine shooting gun.

I was amazed the first time I used a copper solvent, took me a couple days to get it to come out clean, but when I did, the gun started shooting tighter groups, like it did after it was broke in. This is the first thing I do when I buy a used gun and do it to all mine every year or so depending on how much I've shot.

I highly recommend that every one should also try kroil oil after they clean with there favorite bore solvent. You will see a lot more black patchs coming out. kroil is hard to find but midway sells for about 8.49 a can. :)
