I wanted to add a post for posting the most random stuff. Feel free to add whatever you like to it.

Thought for the day...
I wake up, it's misting rain and the temp is around 65. I check the weather and it's supposed to be like this all day. This is the kind of weather I LOVE to hunt. I will sit in a stand all day and watch it mist rain. The deer seem to move all day. Anyhow, A quick check with the boss and I find out that taking the day off is totally out of the question. So I sit in the office all day and nothing happens at work. Iturns out I could have taken the day off anyway. Why is it the perfect hunting days usually are the days you can't go hunt?

Been bow hunting since opening day Sept 15th and have seen deer on every outing, just nothing within bow range. Man, I can't wait for early Muzzleloader Season. I need some Venison.

Wednesday night when I went to bed I had a slight stomach cramp. Thursday morning it's a little worse and I think well, maybe I caught a little case of food poisoning and head off to work. I couldn't stay at work for more than an hour before I headed back home and into bed. The pan gradually gets worse until around 6:00 I ask my wife to take me to the ER. The doc comes in touches my stomach in four places and then says "Your appendix has got to come out." What's more upsetting to me is that this weekend is the first cool snap and I'm out of comission for the next week. Damn appendix. This is not a good start to the season.

I could have made CatMasters happy if I didnt have a cat lover in the blind with me the other day. A stray cat spooked the deer as they were walking towards us. I see a chance to "pattern" the shotgun.

These are sad times, apendectomy, not getting to shoot cats, and taking an unplanned dip in the drink. My story goes like this.

I was on my way home after working up north for nine days, and one hour into an eight hour drive I rear-end the truck in front of me. The worst part is that I knew the guy ahead of me an he had my 14 foot john boat in the bed of his truck, so although the impact was not bad, the bumpers never really got a chance to do their job, and the john boat smashed the grill and rode up the hood of my truck.

Good times, good times....

Sunday, drove two and a half hours to hunting property. Price of deisel fuel for the trip $80 bones. Put out 120 lbs of corn and a bottle of c'mere deer, price of corn and c'mere deer 56 bones. Put up strong built ladder stand in tree price of ladder stand bought second hand for upcoming early muzzleloader season 50 bones. Forgetting to bring the ladder stand stabilizer bar which renders the stand useless to hunt without it, Priceless!!!!!

Having a buddy buy a chrono to check his handloads is awesome. I checked my bow and one arrow(364gr) hit the 244fps mark. The other arrow(325gr) hit the 258fps mark. Watching my buddy try and cock his crossbow after drinking all day, a riot. I decided to cock it for him and shoot it too. It chronoed at 328fps. I am stoked now. I think I will get the rest of the lighter arrows fletched up and start using them.

If my bow wasnt already set up for hunting, I would re-install the drop away on it and see if I could get a little more out of it.

For those of you who don't know, having your appendix taken out sucks. Fourth day in a row that I haven't been able to get out of bed for more than an hour at a time. Today I went for a walk and felt like a 90 year old man. And I agree with NY, sub sammiches are delicious.

The more you walk, the better it feels. My boss/roommate was up and about after he woke up from surgery. Was back at work the next week. Of course he was doing "normal work", but he was back at work doing office stuff.

That sucks Kwack, you gonna be up and around for hunting this year?

I joined Tenpoint in the rear ending someone today. I really hate 2 footed drivers that drive with the brake lights on constantly. There goes the cash for my Thompson Contender.

LOL Tony, somehow I think that's not going to turn out so well for you.

NY, sorry to hear about your accident. I did about $5000.00 damage to my truck, and about $1000.00 to the other truck, but no one was hurt thankfully. Was yours that bad?

Kwack. I feel your pain. Figures it's gotta happen in the fall! I hope you're feeling better soon.

I have watched the Outdoor Channel for almost a full 7 days now. There are some really bad, bad shows on that network. I think I could start a show and do as well as some of the goobers that have shows on there now.
