coons in my corn. any suggestions?

Has anyone found any good ways to keep raccoons from eating 95% of their bait pile? WITHOUT scaring the deer away too?

A smaller bait pile off to the side with additional garbage and a trap is all I can think of. They take my corn too...hate the buggers. Would love to stay up with a spotlight and shoot them.

Trap them hard this year and try to thin them out for next year? Anything a deer likes they will too as far as a bait/attractant. Salt may keep some bait there for the deer. Im a trapper too.

You might try some lye scattered around the pile,,,not sure if the smell will bother the deer or not, but it SHOULD burn the feet of the coons. Or you could try live trapping and removal.

i am a trapper also so the only way there being "removed" is by goin on my skinning racks. hahaha i was simply looking for a way to deture them from the corn pile. guess thats kinda hard considering they eat ANYTHING. hahaha i did find that if i spread the corn out a little more, they didnt stick around as long and eat as much. almost as if they got bored only getting to eat one piece of corn at a time. didnt phase the deer at all. kinda made the deer stick around longer at the bait to get their bellys full which actually helps me when looking for the good shot with a bow! opening day was this last weekend. took a nice buck the first evening. good luck everyone!
