I would lean towards Nikon. I have a few Nikon scopes and a rangefinder and they have all been flawless. That's not to say Bushnell makes a bad product, I just haven't used them very much.

Thanks Kwack,
That was helpful, I was leaning closer to the Nikon set myself. I will most likely go with those, I played with both types and they both had similar eye relief and clarity, I have also heard that Nikon tends to use better quality glass in their offerings as well. Thanks for the nudge in the direction I was pretty sure I was going. Have a great season.

Thanks Ironhead, very good suggestion. I will see which brand has the larger of the two focus knobs. Heavy gloves will be in order in Manitoba, although I will have a pair of gloves that have a shooting finger on them, but very good suggestion. Be safe and have a great rest of the summer.

I have the Bushnell Legend 10x42 and they are good binos but when it is very cold out and you hold them up to your face they will fog a bit but are quite good for the price.Good luck in Manitoba, have hunted there lots, have a buddy who guides.

I have used a variety of binoculars and none even compare to the Swarovski Optik SLC binoculars. They are crystal clear and can be widened to fit those with eyes far apart. Might want to check them out, unless it's too late and you've already gone on the trip. I just now saw this post, sorry.

Well Gents,
I went ahead and purchased the Nikon Monarch ATB 10x42 Binoculars for my trip next year and for use this season as well. Cabelas had them on sale for $249 plus Nikon is running a mail in $50 rebate which took them down to $199 total. I was torn between the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD and the Nikon's but it came down to this deal which I think I did pretty good on. I should be getting them today in the mail. Hope everyone has a great beginning of the season. Getting ready for early goose season here in PA. September 1st.

Good for you. And what you got there is a pretty good deal. Are they still running the rebate stuff for it? Enjoy!!!
