Hi
I dont own any 9,3X62 but I,ve tried it. Here in Spain driven hunts are very popular for deers and mostly for wild boars, and the old 9,3X62 is widely used because provides the knockdown power required in this type of hunts where normally you shoot at very close ranges, really close many times. But dont expect much of it over 100/150 metres as its trajectory is far from being flat. Apart from this, it can be used in standard size actions, which means you can buy and easily find economic rifles to shoot it. For this same reason it was very popular in Africa during the colony days, cause everyone could afford a bolt action rifle for this cartridge. Gentle with the shoulder (almost like a 30/06) makes it quite popular in my country too cause in this driven hunts you can shoot quite a few rounds in a little while, and this softness means it can be shoot as well without overpressure trouble from sauts.
But, as I,ve said, if you normally shoot over those 100 metres and you are looking for a generous caliber cartridge, get yourself a 375 HH...
