dead deer walking

Have any of you all ever shot a deer with a bow and it never knew it was shot. I killed a doe one timat 15 yards that was eating beans. When I hit the release she was braud side and her left foot was out as she bent down to eat. Wack was the noise I heard but the deer just jumped up and stood there. I knocked another arrow and drew again but when I settled my pin in the same spot I saw her lg quivering. The blood was running down her leg and I guess it was tickling her hair or somthing. She kept eating then walked out in the feild a little farther and layed down, then she layed her head down and went to sleep. I couldnt beleive it. She never had and idea she was shot. I hit her right in the arm pit and when she stood up straight her leg covered the whole. A heart shot. I have seen similar thing happen but not to this extent. SHe really had no clue. This hunt ranked right up there with the first deer I shot in the head with my bow.

Hey bambeklr,
Compare that to the terror of cattle prodded cows at a slaughter house and how do non hunters get off being critical of the hunt? The only meat in our freezer I killed.
Treasure the memory!

I shot a nice doe one time, she took off like she was spooked and then stopped 10 yards away, put her nose to the ground and started feeding again. I thought I missed, so I get ready to knock another arrow, when I looked up she was falling to the ground.
Keep the tradition alive, teach a kid how to hunt.
