First of all, I'm glad to hear that you're getting out despite the full moon. One thing's for sure, if you don't go out you stand 0 chance of getting anything so it's great you're getting out. In regards to the moon phases and such, there has been a lot of research regarding the topic and speaking from my own personal experience, I've seen tons of deer during the day time with a full moon, and I've seen 0 deer during the daytime of other moon phases. With that being said, I think the moon does have something to do with deer movement. The best way to target deer during the full moon is to get as close to the bedding areas as possible and be there extra early (1 hour before daylight) as you may be able to catch the deer returning from their favorite feeding area after eating all night. In addition to this, bucks will still search for does during the full moon....there's no telling what can happen during the rut. Bucks will gravitate to where the does are so if you're close to a bedding area, you may be able to intercept a nice buck looking for some action.
Although this saying might be a little cliche, it's so true... hunting is not just a passion, it's an obsession.....it's part of what defines my life.....and I wouldn't have it any other way!
