Now that you've got them, what do you do with them?

For those of you who have your deer processed what do you pay for jerky, and is that price per pound start weight of meat or dried.

We do our own but I asked around and it runs around $5-$7 lb finished here with your own meat. More if they have to grind it. Any specialty seasonings costs more ie: jalapeno etc.

Thanks, I was just wandering because I also make my own jerky and everyone I know keeps asking if I will make some for them when they get their deer and they want to know what I would charge. I want to be fair since I personally know them but I also cant use all of my money and time making jerky for everyone I know.

It's illegal here to sell wild game meat or to charge for butchering/processing without a license. Might want to check your laws. If someone gets sick and blames your jerky you could get sued and lose alot of time, money etc.

$6.85 per pound, on top of normal processing. I bought a dehydrator and started doing my own, because if you open a bag around friends, it don't last very long.
