Drew a G6 Kern Herd buck tag

Hi,
I am new to this forum and have drawn a G6 late season buck tag. I have never hunted this country before. I see they only give out 50 tags for the season. Any information would be great if you know anyone who has hunted this area before etc.

Sorry this hunt is in california it is a late season draw only tag. I believe there are only 50 tags available for the state. The season runs December 1st - 9th. There was a 60% success rate last year with most buck being 3x3 or 4x4 and better.

I just recived my tag for G6 as well. I had a cabin in Alta Serria and the late G6 hunt is a great hunt but as noted it's all about the weather. I need to get teh forest service maps so I can better understand was is G6, this is not well defined.
