i sight my .270 in at 1.5 inches high at 100yds. that way it will be almost dead on at 200yds. i use 100yds. cause i dont have a 200yd range.

I like to sight in 2 1/2" - 3" high at 100 yds --- that way, you can hold dead on out to around 300yds with a .270, .280, or 30.06 and never have to worry about holding over. We've got some places where a 250 - 300 yd shot is pretty common so this method just makes life easy and maximizes your point blank range. The bullet is never more than 4" above or below line of sight. :D

If you're serious, I have a link to a chart and calculator that you can figure in temperature, windspeed, elevation, bullet grain and anything else you can think of, and it will tell you where to aim!

This another link that may turn out to be something really interesting. It is suppose to give you free access to balistics software. I haven't checked it out fully, but seems to be a good site!?!

Here's some data for the 130gr. and 150gr. bullet. The drop charts are for the spitzer boat tail bullet for both. Hope this helps.
