For the younger guys

Postby Dcolwill » Tue Jan 11, 2005 12:02 pm

The honey do lists got me all tied up over the holidays too. It is real encouraging to note there are several young gals on this chat line. Not encouraging to a old guy like me, but I sure wish I'd have scouted the field for a woman who loved the outdoors as much as me before tying the not.
It really is selfish of us hunters to leave the spouse alone so much during the hunting season, but it's a huge passion to be outdoors for me and for her it's bordem torture.
You young hunters should try to find a woman that either will hunt with you or at least appreciate the beauty enough to want to go along and tend camp.
Honey dos are a fact of life in every relationship, but they can be put on hold if both parties agree and share a common hobby.
My eyes focus forward like all predators so I know I was born to hunt.

I'm here but lots of planning...

Postby Rckmaster » Tue Jan 11, 2005 3:38 pm

I'm planning some new tree stands and locations. I'm scheming to get my hands on some heavy machinery so I can get some serious food plots going. This honey don't have time for a lot of home projects, besides I've got 3 sons who need lessons in domestication.

i agree too. i say start 'em young and it will always be there. i started when i was 6 with a bb gun. then went to a .22/20 o/u when i was 10. then my brothers .270 when i was 11, killed my first deer(doe) with it that year. well hope everything turns out ok for em. dont force them to do it if they dont want to. makes for bad memories.

Rack Master scheming

Postby carnivore » Fri Jan 14, 2005 6:16 am

Quigley I think you and ole Doc missed the point Rckmaster is trying to make. He's setting them poor guys up for the sacrificial lamb spot. Mommies gonna be putting those poor guys through the mill, and they'll come out the other side with the skills and knowledge required to keep a plantation running while dads out puttin down the bacon. But thats a good thing I'll guarantee you my mom could put the fear into a twenty man construction crew, and make progress by days end. growin up with 5 brothers and no sisters like I did can prepare you for the real world like it or not everybodys gotta pitch in.
