Finally the wife and I agree on the antlers!

Postby silvergts1998 » Mon Aug 31, 2009 8:44 pm

My wife hates anything to do with deer or parts of it. So I can't get a deer head mounted. I don't think I would do that anyways because it wouldn't blend well in my house anyways. I shot a 7 point buck and it was my first one. One day I come home and I find this. I actually like it and think it's sort of classy! Wife did it! wow!

What do you all think?

I think that looks pretty cool. I have had similar conversations with my girlfriend, but I currently own the house since we aren't married nor do we live together. So I plan on mounting my first buck in the living room, I will make it match:)

I like it.

Lots of hunters probably wouldn't get anything done with a rack short of an 8 point Whitetail anyway and that display case is very tastefully done, some people just can't appreciate the beauty in a mount like a deer head or other game but that was nice of her to do that.

Maybe if you ever get a large bobcat, racoon or something else nice you can get her to make a coffee table like these -

Thats cool, its one of those cases for model cars and such, right? It was very nice of her to do that, I know too many wives, etc that refuse to let any of that stuff be viewable in "their" house. Luckilly, I dont have that issue, my whole living room is decorated in deer/outdoors related stuff.

That is a very cool idea and looks great. Nice comprimise on her part and shows that she supports your hunting. Good for you. Enjoy. Can you please ask your wife how she made that and what she made it out of?

Looks nice. My wife bitched about putting a deer head in the living room, now I have 2 (deer heads not wives), might have trouble squeezing another one in, but I'll try.

Very tastefull.Last year i was on my way out the door to pick up a mount when the wife says thats it! No more mounts after this one.I took a detour to the garage and grabbed a rack from a deer i shot and did'nt find for a couple of days.I went to pick up my mount and asked the guy if he had any extra hides He said yeah and i said good mount this thing.Five months later i walked in the door with it and she says what the heck is that.I said dont ever tell me i cant have a mount again. And thats how i have that deer turned back licking himself.Pics are in Taxidermy under my mounts.

Yeah, a few years ago I saw a coffee table that had a Bobcat in it sneaking around a big piece of wood and on the other side there was two quail.

It was awesome, a predator scene inside a coffee table.

It was priced at around $3,000.
