First buck with a bow.

Ok here's the story on this one.

I got home from work at 3:50 and just wanted to go hunting bad, even though I'd only have about 45 minutes of hunting time once I got out to my spot.

Grabbed my truck keys and since my hunting gear was already in it I took off. Got to my spot about 4:10 threw on my camo and started across the field. I decided that I wouldn't waste time crossing all the way across the field and would just sit on the ground next to a tree (I know, bow hunting sitting by a tree isn't normally the best idea). So I made myself comfortable and grabbed my grunt call.

Hit the grunt a little, and waited about 5 minutes. Hit it again and was watching the field when to my left I could hear something moving. Kept watching the direction of the noise until I could see a deers head through the brush. At this point I couldn't tell that it was a buck.

He started closer to me and I could then see the antlers, he looked like a fairly nice buck but I was more concerned about the fact that he was 15 yards from me and I was sitting on the ground lol...

He then turned almost straight for me then about 10 yards out he turned and presented me with a fairly decent shot, drew my bow back, put the pin on his shoulder and let it rip.

The muzzy shattered his shoulder and pierced his heart. He only made it about 60 yards. First buck with a bow, biggest buck ever for me and was only in the woods for maybe 30 minutes lol.

Your story was incredible. My first buck with a bow was in Florida at the Razzor Ranch http://razzorranch.com/bow_hunting.htm . But I also got my first boar with a bow 900 lbs!!!!! I am heading down that way this week. I will keep you informed. Thanks
