first bull elk (Idaho)

Here is the first bull elk I have gotten. It was from a drop camp in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. He scored 270. He was with 3 cows and 2 calfs in a large wooded valley. He only bugled twice but my dad and I were able to locate them and sneak up on the herd in a old small avalanche slide. took four shots with my 300 wsm to finally drop him. Talk about an adrenaline rush!

Awesome, congrats on the elk.
Keep the tradition alive, teach a kid how to hunt.

Nice bull.
I hunted the same area last year.We killed one bull out of 6 hunters. All do it yourselfers though. My one buddy has been ther 10 times in 20 years and killed 7 bulls. Not bad for a guy from Delaware who justed started going there cause somebody else told him it was a good spot.
