Got questions about what to grow and when to grow it? This is the place to ask.

It is best to follow the directions on the back, which probably state that the best way for this to grow is to till, seed and cover.

If you dont want to till, I would at least clear the spot out down to bare earth before seeding.

We havnt used the secret spot yet in our area (too early) but we did throw some "no-plow" out in a couple small spots. It's coming up fairly well for something that was just tossed out onto some stirred up dirt. This is the first year we have planted a variety of real deer plot seeds..so I'm interested to see how the deer respond, as opposed to our normal all corn fields.

amteurhnttr-The guys in the club with me planted several patches of the Whitetail Institute secret spot and all did well. The more you prep. of the ground the better it grows. The spots on hard dry ground only had grass while the tilled spots were super thick green plots. You can see the food plots on the club site at www.thejalapahuntclub.com there are pictures of the food plots on there as well as these small plots. The one that says JUG HEAD planted it is the hard spot. :)
