food plot help. new to hunting need some tips.

i live in the southeastern corner of indiana right across the line from cincinatti ohio. i have fields and woods. the fields my girlfriends mom rents out so i can't plant there the woods is my only option to get deer to stay around and plant food plots. what should i do. what should i plant when im on a tight budget.

I am not sure about how and when and all that because I am from NC. I do have family in IN but that has not much merit on this subject. I will give you one piece of advise, make sure your plots get sun. I have heard many stories about spending money, lots of time planting and getting nothing due to inadequate sunlight. This is my first season planting food plots and that is one of the biggest issues I have had so far. Most people I have read about end up with a lot of time on the end of a chainsaw.
