Fred Bear Game Over

Postby Jaypo » Sun Nov 01, 2009 8:50 am

I have a chance to buy a brand new 09 Game Over for $200.00. I am able to pull back 70lbs with no problem, but this bow is a 50-60lb model. Do you guys think that I should get it? It is a far better bow than the 70lb Bear Mossy Oak 32 that I currently shoot. What are your thoughts?

You really dont need any more than 50 lbs to efficiently kill a deer. I have mine set at 63 lbs and can draw it back with a minimum of movement. If you are just target shooting, it doesnt matter, but for hunting, you need to be able to easily draw more than you need to shoot 70 lbs.

Since '01 Ive hunted with a compund set at 48lbs and all my stick bows are 50lbs and under. This'll be the 8th year with that setup and Im halfway thru the double digits, plenty of turkeys and several yotes, fox, coons etc have fallen to them. I have concerns with lower draw weights and some broadheads but you'll be fine at 50 or 60lbs.

Guys, I just got my Game Over and it is freakin' awesome! I set it up Monday night with my rest, sight, and Alpha Shox. I just need to have my peep sight installed and fine tune it. It is ultra smooth to pull back. I'm very pumped up!!!
