I have not killed anything yet. I am really going to hunt hard this entire weekend and the following 2 weeks. I want to get something with my bow but will settle with a gun at least to fill the freezer.

Well i was wrong,,,deer are running at night. Winds blowing 30-40 mph,,full moon, clear and unseasonably warm. Still successful though.

Killed my doe on rifle opener had many to chose from. As for bucks my brothers and buddies put down some decent ones. Had chances at a couple true bruisers but they live on.

Rifle season for buck is over. I heard very limited shots around me,,never more than 20 rounds on any morning (most of those sounded like follow up shots) Weather was terrible both weekends. I took my buck and does. I did not get the number of tags i normally do (7 on average),,with the kids off to college i dont need that much. From what i have heard the totals state wide have been way down,,means next year there will be some AWESOME bucks here in Missouri,,and there the state wide antler restriction took effect making even more available to grow. If anyone is planning a trip for next year,,,CHECK OUT MISSOURI.
