I like to pick the trees that I think that I will be climbing early in season so I can get them trimmed out. Sometimes they change locations depending on the deer movement.
All stands make some kind of noise while climbing. Just take it slow and easy. Practice also helps you to become more familiar with your stand and any squeaks it might make before you go hunting with it.
If I am climbing I usually go out an hour or two earlier so the woods have a little time to settle down
Good Luck
