In most cases, ground blinds (even stick blinds) seem to need some sort of added or extra cover to be effective. They also seem to require time for all the local wildlife to get used to seeing them there, and this holds especially true for deer. You can get away with a lot more in the woods than you ever will out in the open, that's for sure. Deer will notice any little thing that is out of place. This has been my personal experience anyway and I've been a hunter for 45 years and guiding now (deer, bear, turkey) for about 35 years. -Runner
