I hope all of our members have a happy and safe Thanksgiving. Please take a moment to really appreciate what we have all been blessed with. There are very few people in the world that can't spend as much time as we do involved in the wonderful sport and fellowship of hunting and being outdoors. Keep in mind the folks that make it possible. The wardens and rangers that enforce the laws take a bad rap sometimes but they hardly ever get thanked for a job well done. Thank one the next time you see one. Also, don't forget to thank your loved ones for putting up with as much crap as they do just so we can sit in a tree and lose ourselves in nature. Thank whoever introduced you to the ways of the woods. If it hadn't been for that person you would probably be playing golf somewhere in your freetime. The best way to thank that person is to introduce someone new to the sport, just like they did you. Now's a good time to turnover some of your bounty to the people who let you hunt their land. Come on, you don't need all that backstrap for yourself, do you? Say thanks to a soldier and shake their hand. Look them square in the eye and tell them how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication, for without folks like them we wouldn't have the freedom and opportunities we do today. Remember that there are so many of them who are still overseas and can not be home for the holidays. Keep those men and women in your thoughts and prayers always, but especially during the holidays. It's a tough time to be away. Remember the men and women who layed down their lives on battlefields far away from home, past and present. Remember those soldier's families as well. Those who have died weren't the only ones who sacrificed. Their families will be hurting during the holidays and they need our prayer and support as well. If you ever get to meet someone like that, thank them and tell them how much you appreciate their sacrifice. It will mean so much to them to hear that their lost loved ones are not forgotten. And finally, thank the Lord Almighty, He is the one for whom we should be truly grateful. He has blessed us all so dearly and we should thank Him for all he has given us. Happy Thanksgiving.

Keep the tradition alive, teach a kid how to hunt.
