I wish I could help but unfortunately I don't use a harness. I'm kind of negligent when it comes to my tree stand safety.

It costs a bit more than most but the hunter safety system is awesome. Fast and does not restrict you. I haven't dropped the coin to get one yet but my buddy has one and I have used it a couple of times.

IMO the newer type with the built in vest are the way to go, the old harness's that are cheap and basically nothing but straps can work but some can leave you hanging upside down if you fall out of the tree head first and leave you hanging upside down until you right yourself or until someone finds you is not a good thing.

The newer ones with the built in vest are made to help make sure your body ends up heads up and feet down.

Any harness is better than nothing. Anyone that stand hunts with no safety harness is just tempting fate no matter which kind of stand it is. The only time I dont wear a harness is when climbing into my ladder stand and that is only because I have no way of setting up a prussic rope on that one.. Remember, you are not the only one affected if you fall out of your stand and are paralyzed or killed.

The Hunters Safety System is a good one, I have a Gorilla brand vest system and there are others.
