Harvesting Limestone off my hunting land

Postby cbarnes » Fri Feb 13, 2009 12:19 pm

We have recently purchased new hunting land and the bottom half of the property is covered in Limestone rock. Does anyone know if there is a market for having someone come in and harvesting it? I dont need it or want it, but who wouldn't want to make some money if they could.

I do personally know a guy that has a gravel mining company on his farm, he does pretty well with it. He now has a fantastic lake on part of the property. A gavel company would be the ones to contact, but yes there is a market for it. I will add that if you do it,,,your not likely going to be popular with any of the neighbors, due to blasting, increased heavy truck traffic and property values. I would likely be a zoning fight.

Thanks for the info. We are really looking for someone to come in and haul it off. Hopefully that will not involve blasting, just some heavy equipment.
