I would personally use the 30-30 or the 243

i shot a big ol ugly feral boar on saturday with a 12 gauge, double 00 buckshot. I wasn't looking for a hog, i just came across him in the woods. I shot him at very close range 5 times in the head. He did not die. Hogs have armor, and thick skulls. Went back on sunday and did him off with the .243 in the ear. If you hit them in the ear they will die.

Hell man, that must have been some sort of "super hog", no pig I've ever seen would take five in the head and I shoot them on a regular basis using SGs. He must have been quiet though to hang around till sunday!
