hog traps

I want to know if anyone knows is it OK to put hog traps near your deer feeder, and then would it be better to pick up loaded hog trap and move it rather than killing hogs, at than location. I have a large tractor that can move traps.

You can put traps at the feeder. just dont expect to see any deer while theres a hog stuck in a trap. not to mention your introducing a new unnatural structure to the deers feeding spot. their going to be leary about it for awhile. killing the hog there on the spot shouldnt harm anything. i wouldnt recommend cleaning the hog there and leaving all the remains there..... just keep in mind, the more you are in an area, the more your disrupting the deer. trapping the hogs near the feeder is going to require you to "disrupt" the deer more often having to go in to set up the trap, goin in to check the trap, and then even having to drive in with the tractor to remove the hog. this is all disruptions that werent there before. and if persisted for even a short period of time, you will see a change in the movent patterns of the deer. GUARENTEED. wether they start moving at night or a different time that they feel less likely to run into you, or worse case senerio, they start feeding somewhere else all together. I know the hogs eat your corn. i know it sucks. its just one of those things in life.... your damned if you do... and damned if you dont! good luck though!
