How do you guys figure out how many grains your broadheads should be?
I'm shooting thirty-one inch, 2017 Easton Game Getter shafts... with Thunderhead 125's.

Is there a formula for the correct weight to arrow length?

Go with what you like mostly. But you want a Front of Center(FOC) of 8-12%. My set-up is around 11%. You might like 85gr heads, but it may not equate to a proper FOC, which can lead to poor arrow flight, so you will need to go with a larger head. that may mean going to a 90-95gr head or it could mean going to a 125 like you are using now.

As I mentioned earlier though, if you like the head and how it performs, stick with it.

I used the link below and guessed and some of the weights on your arrow and came up with 9.61%. Here is a link to help you determine your FOC....

what is your draw length???? You may gain alot of performance by lightening your setup. Are you shooting a compound or traditional?

I shoot a PSE compound that I bought back in the mid 1980's... still shoots great.... draw length is 31". Not sure what FOC means... could you explain a bit further? The 125's I'm using fly well and get the job done.
