since i cant see pg 2 ill start this new post. just how many deer did everyone get? let us know and show the pics, tell the story. no pop up books though they scare me. trying to read it and stuff keeps jumping up at you, whew, have goose bumps now. just kidding, lol. well here is my broke tine spike. we needed to get rid of a few small bucks. next time it'll be a doe or "The Big One"(i hope).
Here is the story of my buck. my nephew(his first hunt) and i were hunting on his place(600 acres), we had several deer including a big one that wasnt seen until to late. this doe came out at about 6:30, made it in to shooting distance about 6:45. i mewed to get her to stop and he shot, she fell got back up and ran off. we sat there about 20 min. and got up to go look for her, but didnt see any sign. we were waiting on a friend to get there when another doe walked out. i drew a bead on her but she saw me and ran into the woods. we were still sitting there waiting when the friend called and said he was around the corner. well while on the phone this little spike walked out, kept walking towards us, and with me making noise he never stopped. i dropped down to the ground and waited on him to come over the small hump in the field. when he did i mewed and he stopped stretched out his neck and BOOM, he fell where he stood. we let him lie there while we searched for my nephews doe. we trailed her for about a 1/4 mile or so and lost her blood trail and never found her. wish i could fly some kinda aircraft so we could get an over head shot of the area. wheres the Goodyear blimp when you need it? anyway ill stop there. hope its not to boring.

Happy huntin

Congrats Doc. Filled a couple doe tags during our Sept. muzzleloading season, about all I did. Rifle season was a disaster this year, so didn't fill my buck tag. No pics of the doe's that were shot. First one was on a Sat. morning. Had been having this big doe bust me on my way to the blind in the morning, so when I went after her I went alot earlier than usual. Got out there and sprawled flat out on the ground where she'd been busting me. That morning she came through real early, way before normal, so I had to let her walk by. Right at shooting hours I had a couple more nice ones come through, went ahead and shot the one at 18 yards. She ended up running 129yds before I found her. Shot through 1 lung and the liver. The second one I shot that evening. Was in my tree when 2 came by, the biggest one had a pretty good set of ears on her, :D I had the wind in my face and she heard me cock back that hammer at 25yds., course that was the last thing she heard. That shot dropped her right where she stood. Shot her at the base of the neck and it exited her abdomen. Had a busy day.

slow season for this Mo. boy

Looks like you got a good eater there Doc. My season wasn't even as exciting as yours and Quigleys. Made a bad hit on a really nice buck on the Mo. opener of rifle, then later in season took a black powder doe.
