So my question is for those of you that hunt on the western side of the state what technique is it you use to get your dear year after year? I took my "clients" out the Delezeene and up around Minot peak behind the Satsop nuke site and we basically did some slow driving road hunting, with a few landing stops and a couple of spur road walks. We could only do so much on sunday( our only day out so far ), since i had my 4 year old with me who tuckered out quickly.
Next weekend I plan on taking my Nephew (15yrs old) and my oldest son (7yrs) and was looking for help on what is the best tactic for hunting in the area of Elma?
Is it best to just cruize the roads as i see some do just waiting for a deer to walk out and say "shoot me"?
Should i sit on a good landing with a nice tree line for the day and wait for them to come out and sun?
Is a landing the place to be at Dawn or Dusk? Or should i find a field? Or Drive?
Should I find a nice not so traveled spur road and walk it up and down sitting every once in a while to hope deer will show up?
Thanks for any advice you may have. I really want to give these young men a good experience.
Sincerely,
Unlce Buck
