Hunting buddy in NOVA (Arlington or nearby counties))

Postby novahunter » Sun Aug 07, 2011 10:43 am

I am getting ready for the season and after my last seasons buddy moved back south, I am hoping to find others in the area with some experience to scout, hunt and enjoy some hunting this year.

I started bow hunting last year and although don't mind using my 30-06, you can't beat the excitement of being up in a tree with deer just yards away when drawing your bow. I will start practicing soon at Ft. Belvoir, they have a nice outdoor archery range.

I live in Arlington and work in DC, so you got to understand my frustration when it comes to being away from the good hunting spots and the limited amount of people really into the sport.

We have done primitive camping in state parks and near WMA's, definitely the way to do it and get the full experience; and I don't mind traveling around VA to find good spots during the season.

Hit me up or pm if in the area or nearby, pretty stoked about the beginning of the season.

Peace~

I think this year for rifle season I'm going to hit up phelps. Let me know if you want to go but I'm going in really early.

I live in Fairfax and am new to deer hunting. I've just done quail/pheasant/crow before and want to move up to bigger game. I'm hoping this fall will be my first season. Done a lot of reading about it and would love to go with someone to help learn the ropes.

I'm a long time shooter, hunted birds for about 3 yrs and am looking to learn. Not interested in trophys, just learning the skill and getting the meat.
