HUNTING FOR MULE DEER IN A HIGH CONTRY BUCK HUNT

I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR OPINIONS ON MY CHOICE OF CALIBER A TIKKA T3 25-06 FOR MY HUNT. I HAVE NOT PICKED A BULLET FOR THIS CALIBER YET SO IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE WRITE ME. IF YOU THINK I SHOULD NOT USE THIS CALIBER PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY.

I dont see why that cal. would be a problem for mule deer.I dont know a lot about it but im pretty sure you can get some good size loads for it.I hear a lot guys talk about how they love it cause its so versatile.

I have a tikka t-3 in a 300wsm.So as far as the brand goes i got no complaints there.

I have never shot this caliber, but I expect it would be a fine caliber for mulies, specially in open country.

.25-06 is an excellent round for mulies & whitetails. Iknow a guide in WY who hunts elk w/ it. I have the same rifle and it is a tack driver. Try Hornady's Custom ammo 117 gr, it works great for me.

PERSONALLY I WOULD CHOOSE A RIFLE WITH A LITTLE MORE 'REACH OUT AND TOUCH YOU' TRAJECTORY FOR OPEN HIGH COUNTRY MULE DEER. NOT THAT THE 25-06 IS A BAD CALIBER, BUT IF I HAVE A 300+ YARD SHOT AT A NICE BUCK I WOULD LIKE THE ABILITY TO TAKE IT.
