Hunting in Eastern NC

Postby goodolboy89 » Fri Oct 28, 2011 1:37 pm

I have been hunting in Croatan national forest here in eastern NC for about 3 years now, and for the last 3 years i have walked out of the woods everyday without a deer. I am getting tired and fed up with it. i have been sitting in a stand with my papaw and dad since i was 4 years old. i have tagged my share of deer in MD. Seriously, everytime i have been out. i get there just before dawn and i sit until about 2 hours tops and all i hear is these damn dogs running all around.I serously dont understand what kind of non hunting person uses dogs to go get there deer. that takes no skill or talent at all. anyone got any advice for me on what to do or where to go to find real hunters. the ones who dont use or allow dogs to run on their property?

you will have to go west I have hunted some of the gamelands down east and even when the dogs are not there the deer don't move.I am with you I don't like dog hunting but don't disagree with it either. It is the way they hunt and that is what counts because we need all the hunters we can get.

Wildlife is becoming more and more scarce everywhere. Like many other things in life you may have to go with the flow. You may not like it or think it is the correct way to hunt but you might want to try a hunt with dogs. At least you could get what you came for.
