Yes deer do move in the rain but are a little more nervous. Remember though you really need to be on your guard cause you won't hear them.

The deer move in the rain, but how much they move depends on how hard it is raining. If it's pouring down buckets, they won't move. But when it quits pouring buckets you need to be in the stand. If it's drizzling or raining klightly they will move just about all day. They'll bed down for a while and then get up and shake off, move a little and bed down again.
Keep the tradition alive, teach a kid how to hunt.

Yep on what they said, especially Kwackwacker.

Foggy, drizzly, light rain deer do move and feed but if its a heavy rain or stormy crap weather they will bed in cover and will be in heavy cover if its heavy wind added to that but as the wacker said, once the storm breaks and it quits raining or even after a snow thats when you want to be in the stand because they will be on the move.

I agree with KwackWacker and Bowhunters on this. I love to hunt in a light rain or drizzle. I seem to see a lot of deer on these types of days, as long as it is not too windy. Good luck.

It started raining light here last night. Taking my girlfriend home last night I must have seen at least 30 deer, including one bruiser. I have seen more deer when it's raining vs. when it's not. Deer do become more skidish though because just like you can't hear them coming they can't hear you and will become more cautious as they roam.
Got a couple quick pop shots off...

First post here, currently serving in the US ARMY in Iraq and stationed in Georgia. Do half my hunting in Georgia and half in Ohio where i'm originally from.
In my humble opinion you should only be still hunting in the rain. Deer will still move in the rain but it's alot harder to sit there and rely on your eyes only while you're getting soaked. Still hunting however is perfect in the rain, the deer can't hear you coming as well and scent isn't as much of a problem
