Hunting season stinks so far.

Has anyone elses hunting season stunk so far. I hunt in upstate not too far north just west of albany. I have never had a season like this. Out maybe 25 times and have only seen 3 deer. All in the same day same hour. Other then that nothing. Im getting really frustrated and am wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Im going down to the border of ny and pa for the opener of the southern zone gun season so i hope to have a good weekend.

I think alot of it has had to do with the warm weather. They are moving at night. Right now the bucks are becoming locked down with does and it will stay like that for the next week or so.

I DON'T HUNT YOUR AREA BUT IN UPSTATE NY BY THE CANADIAN BORDER AND WE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW AREA'S(WHICH I WON'T MENTION OR THEY WILL SOON HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM). I AM WILLING TO BET THAT YOU AREN'T EVEN SEEING MUCH SIGN IN THE WOODS EITHER?????
I HAD POSTED THIS LAST WEEK AND I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ONE RESPONSE.I AM VERY DISCOURAGED WITH NYS AND OUR HUNTERS. THE BOTTOM LINE IS WE ARE KILLING WAY TOO MANY DOES. IT WASN'T THAT LONG AGO THAT A HUNTER MIGHT BE ABLE TO SHOOT 3 DEER INCLUDING A DMP FOR THE SO. TIER. NOW WE CAN SHOOT UP TO EIGHT DEER AND WITH THE MAJORITY BEING DOES.
I KNOW IT DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT BUT DO THE MATH WITH 1/2 THE NEWBORNS BEING BUCKS AND YOU WILL SEE THAT 1 DOE IS WORTH 100 DEER IN 10 YEARS, MORE IF THEY HAVE TWINS AND TRIPLETS!!!!!!!!
I DON'T KNOW HOW BUT I WANT TO START A FORUM WHERE WE CAN SUPPORT OR NOT SUPPORT THE RESTRICTION AND LIMITING OF DMP'S IN NYS(SIMILAR TO WHAT A HANDFUL OF COUNTY CLERKS DID RECENTLY ABOUT THE NEW LISCENCE PLATE MANDATE). IF WE THE HUNTERS DON'T STOP THE KILLING DOES WE WILL BE RIGHT WHERE WE WERE IN THE 60'S WHEN THE STATE DECIMATED THE DEER HERD IN NYS. I MYSELF AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO COUNTING MYSELF LUCKY TOO HAVE CROSSED A DEER TRACK IN A DAYS HUNTING. THAT'S HOW IT WAS AND THAT IS WHERE WE ARE GOING WITH THE OVERISSUANCE OF DMP'S. IF WILL BE A TOUGH FIGHT AND WE THE HUNTERS DON'T HAVE THE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS LIKE THE INSURANCE COMPANIES BUT I BELIEVE THAT IF WE CAN BAND TOGETHER WE WILL PREVAIL TO ENSURE FUTURE GENERATIONS THE QUALITY HUNTING THEY DESERVE, KEVIN.

I feel your pain! I have been out several times and only have a few deer under the stand. Had 2 buck come in just out of range and a dozen doe walk by. This happend in early season bow. The first two nights that I sat. What's up with that.. several hunts nothing.. I see your are headed down to pa/ny area? thats where I live. I live in endicott/binghamton area and hunt in Bainbridge/afton area.. best of luck to you. I have been watching a really nice buck from last year into this year.

yea i was hunting stueben county. i think thats how you spell it. we drove right threw binghamton on the way. we saw a ton of deer down there and had a blast. shot at the biggest buck i have ever come across before but missed him. after a trip to the range learned that my shotgun mst have gotten hit or something because it was off 15 inches high. never had a problem with the gun before but i dont know. hopefully its gets cold before fun season is over so the deer start moving again.

Yngbowhntr24: Here is one of the bucks I was watchin for the last year. there were 2 bucks together. I was still hunting and I jumped both of them. and pushed them to my brother. He started shooting at one and this one came back to me. Sorry to hear about your miss. He will be there for you next year.
