Im Back!! New game cam pics

Postby fire_boy92 » Thu Jul 30, 2009 5:55 pm

Hey guys I have been gone for a while now. I just got my game cam back out here in the same neighborhood as last year. Last years post was titled "guess the score" for those of you interested. These bucks are lucky enough to have found their home in this community with no hunting pressure. Score estimations as well as age guesses are always fun so feel free to put in your 2 cents. ==== Chris

Those are some sweet pics. NICE deer! I have no Idea on size..Just a guess would be 140ish for the lone buck. Like I said...just a guess. Am I even close?? Regardless, those are some enjoyable photos.

Jaw dropping pics you have there. I can't believe how symmetrical that rack on the big boy is...damn fine.

Thanks guys ... Well the camera is about 5 miles from where it was last year and its on a different creek. What are the odds that the first time i put the cam out in this spot I get the same deer as last year?? They are pretty low but who knows, He does look really similar to the one from last year.

Im going to find a pic from last year around the same time and put them side by side and I will post it on here.

Hopefully no hurricanes screw up my deer watching this year!

Today around 2PM I saw out the truck window 2 NICE bucks on the same creek where my camera is. They are off a different street and its the 3rd time I have seen them together over there. They are similar to the size of the one I posted here but I think one is a 10pt. I will move the cam over to that spot later this week and see if I can catch these big guys. ---- Chris

Picture on the right is the deer I was watching last year. Pic was taken 7/28/08... The buck on the left is this years buck taken on 7/23/09. They are Very similar but I think this is a different buck. Also Last years buck had a totally white chest and this years buck doesnt.

They are very similar, I would say they are related in some fashion. Five miles isn;t that far for a buck in rut. Damn it, I am seriously in awe of those two deer. Keep the pics coming.

Yeah, those two just might be twins from the same doe or something like that, especially with their ranges being so close together. What a beautiful pair of bucks though.

Yep, I agree with NYBuckhunter.

They could be out of the same doe born one year apart, hard to say its not a difference in the zoom of the pic's but the one seems to have a broader forehead so could be older.

The black strip going down to the nose looks wider where it goes through the white area also.

Regardless, nice bucks for sure.

yeah I merged those two pics together on paint and I had to resize one... I tried to do it as best I could but its probably distorted some.

At the end of this week Im 100% positive I can catch two other bucks on cam about a mile upstream of the creek. These two guys that hang out together are as big or bigger than this one! I have talked to some other guys that travel the same road and they report seeing them multiple times also in the same spot. A little corn thrown on the ground and a camera on a tree is all it will take.

Catching bucks of this size is like stealing candy from a baby here... NO hunting is allowed, this 24 sq mile master planned community is a resort for these bucks and Im sure many of them die of old age.

I need some of these guys to make the 100 something mile drive to where I hunt!!

I would say he is at least a 4 1/2 year old. He's got that barrel chest and the sagging gut. He might be 5 1/2. Definitely nice, now go put a lock on stand in that tree to his right.

I'm with KwackWacker that its probably 4 1/2 or maybe 5 1/2 years old, as he said a big barrel chest and starting to get a beer belly look of a deer in his 4th or 5th year.

When they hit that 6 1/2 or 7 1/2 they start getting gray in the face and he's not there yet so he might get even bigger racked next year if you take the chance of letting him go one more winter.

But I wouldn't. LOL

Those pics of last years buck and this years buck, i'd put money on them pics are of the same deer. He's a shooter for sure, cause he's not going to get any bigger just a very nice 8 pt.

You might want to check your city/town ordinances or check with your local DNR/Fish and Game office, there are cities that allow bowhunting inside limits due to deer running in front of vehicles and causing wrecks.

Good point but our "city" is actually not really a city. All the land is privately owned by the development company. Its a "master planned community" I dont know about you guys but deer feeders and stands are definetly what i would consider master planning!

I know all about those no hunt zones. Sometimes it can just make ya sick! I was watchin that deer city usa on the outdoor channel. They seem to get into city limits. Some giants grow in town! Nice pics just the same!
